Sampoerna Kayoe Donates 4,750 Personal Protective Equipment Sets to Jombang District
JOMBANG – As a form of support and concern on government countermeasures to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sampoerna Kayoe as the world’s leading processed wood producer distributes PPE donations for the medical teams in district government’s hospitals.
This donation was submitted by Andree Pamungkas (Head of Operations – PT. Sumber Graha Sejahtera, Jombang) as a representative of Sampoerna Kayoe, and received by the Regent of Jombang, Mundjidah Wahab and Deputy Regent of Jombang, Sumrambah in the pendopo district.
“Sampoerna Kayoe will continue to work together with all parties, including the government, medical officials and the entire community, to countermeasure this pandemic. We are very well aware of the enormous medical needs, therefore we truly endeavor to contribute to society “said Andree, Head of Operations at PT Sumber Graha Sejahtera.

Since the beginning of March 2020, Sampoerna Kayoe has implemented strict health protocol; currently no employee has any symptoms of Covid-19 or was tested positive for Covid-19.
On this occasion, Sampoerna Kayoe believes that the medical team needs should receive more attention, in addition to the patients who are infected by Covid-19 since the medical team has the highest risk. Therefore, it is important to provide them with adequate PPE according to the medical standard.
4,750 sets of PPE provided by PT SGS consists of hazmat shirts, medical masks, and N-95 masks. “We hope that this PPE is useful for medical personnel in carrying out their duties as the frontliners in saving people’s life.” he added.
The delivery of aid was carried out quite simply by being attended and received by the representative of the regency of Jombang, Regent Mundjidah Wahab, Deputy Regent of Jombang, Sumrambah, the Team for the Acceleration and Handling (PP) of Covid-19 Jombang, Director of Jombang District Hospital, Dr. Pudji Umbaran, Director of Ploso Hospital, Dr. Iskandar Dzulqornain, The Head of the Jombang Health Service, Subandriyah, Government Assistance and People’s Welfare Department, Anwar, and the leaders of PT SGS, Andree Pamungkas as the Head of Operations, Sujud Wiyono as the Plant Head, Achmad Septiyanto as the Head of HR Division, and Hartijo as the Area Head of GA (General Affair).
Jombang Regent, Mundjidah Wahab expressed his gratitude for the concern of PT SGS in supporting the district government in fighting Covid-19. According to him, medical aid consisting of 4,750 sets of PPE would certainly be very helpful for medical personnel who are in charge of handling Covid-19 patiens.
“On behalf of the Jombang Regency Government, we would like to express our thanks. With this assistance, it will certainly reduce the burden on the district government in providing PPE for the medical team, this will be very beneficial for us.”said Regent Mundjidah Wahab.
PPE delivered through the Jombang Regency Government will be distributed to hospitals, both the government’s referral hospital, Jombang District Hospital (RSUD Jombang), and the buffer hospitals for Covid-19 in RSUD Ploso and RSK Mojowarno.
The Regent also hopes that the good relations that have existed between Jombang Regency and PT SGS will keep getting better and can create synergies.
PT SGS is a subsidiary of Sampoerna Kayoe; one of its plants is located in Jombang, East Java. Formerly known as PT SUB (Sejahtera Usaha Bersama), which has been operating in Jombang for approximately 16 years and is a central business unit in East Java with supporting factories located in Madiun, Jember and Banyuwangi with total employees of 3000.
